FAQs

  • As a psychotherapist, I diagnose and treat mental health conditions. As a college success coach, I work with students and families on identifying and pursuing goals related to education. While there are some overlaps — key to both psychotherapy and coaching is a strong relationship built on trust — there are important differences. As a coach, I do not diagnose or treat mental health disorders. If at any point during our work together a student would benefit from psychotherapy, I will refer them to a different provider.

  • I keep my psychotherapy practice strictly separate from my college coaching practice. This means that, if we have worked together in psychotherapy, we cannot work together in coaching, and vice versa. This policy extends to family members: I do not coach students, whose siblings I have served as a psychotherapist, and vice versa.

  • I am happy to offer free introductory calls for prospective clients. During our call, we can discuss your goals for coaching and my services to see if we could be a good fit. To set up a call, don't hesitate to contact me.

  • I am based in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. However, I am available to meet with students and their families across the country over the phone, email, or video chat.

  • I work closely with families to develop packages that work for them, including a mix of hourly rates and short-, medium-, and long-term engagements. To learn more about our rates, please contact me.

  • College coaching is not covered by insurance. Please note that college coaching is not a mental health service or other medical service.
